A Note on Spring Plants: West Star Organics is unable to supply Basics with organic food plants this year. We recommend supporting locally owned K&W Greenery and the local farmers markets.

Basics Co-op Owners, we need your skills!

The Basics Board meets for approximately 1 hour every other month, with an additional 1–2-hours of monthly participation encouraged to read and contribute to emails and committee projects. This year, 2 of 5 seats are up for election to new 2-year terms.

All current Co-op Owners are eligible to run for board and vote in the election which will be held April 30 - May 6 online and in-store. Click here to download application information to submit by Friday, April 14.

Volunteer board service is a wonderful way to support the future of your co-op and its impact on our community!

Marinated French Lentil Salad

By: Co+op

Lentils are an affordable way to get more protein, fiber, iron, B-6, potassium and magnesium! French green lentils cook quickly and, unlike other lentils, don’t fall apart.

In this lively dish, the nutty lentils absorb a lemony vinaigrette, along with kale, feta, almonds and scallions. This is a great make-ahead dish, which only improves with a day or two in the refrigerator.
