Clover Meadows Family Farm

This small family farm is located within the rolling meadows of Marathon County, Wisconsin. Their cows are 100% naturally grass-fed, grazing green pasture during the growing season and quality grass hay through the winter. All of their feed is biodynamic.

What makes these cows special, in addition to their great health, is that they are bred to produce milk that is A1 beta-casein-free. Why does that matter?

From the Clover Meadows website:

"Most modern dairy cows in America produce A1 beta-casein proteins. The original milk protein is called A2 and found mostly in heritage breeds. Scientists have determined that A1 beta casein, at position 67, can break down in our stomachs to produce a casamorphin called BCM7. This is a powerful opioid with narcotic properties. Scientists have linked A1 beta casein in milk to heart disease, type 1 diabetes, autism, schizophrenia, some milk intolerance and autoimmune diseases."

Artisan “European Style” Clover Meadows yoghurt is also packed with good cultures. This delicious drinkable yoghurt can be poured on cereal or fresh fruits or used to make pancakes in place of buttermilk or milk. Only organic fruits and maple syrup are used in the flavored yoghurts. There are no artificial additives or thickeners. Plain, Wildberry, Maple Raspberry, Orange Maple, and Maple Vanilla can be found in the Basics dairy case!
